Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a great humanitarian

Ayaan Hirsi Ali infidelThe beautiful and dignified Ayaan Hirsi Ali overcame severe hardship and rose to prominence by possessing innate morality, kindness and decency. Having come from Somalia - the most dangerous country in the world, where she suffered under a brutal and violent social system that included having her genitals hacked off when she was five - Hirsi Ali has continually displayed grace, intelligence and courage in her sounding of the alarm concerning Islam.

And Hirsi Ali doesn't speak of "radical" or "extreme" Islam - she talks about what is in reality classical Islam, Islam as it was meant to be. and has been She spoke at the University of Wisconsin at Madison recently, where, of course, Muslims were angered by her mere presence, as many of them are by her mere existence (and so much else).

UW-Madison speaker critical of Islam, draws Muslims' criticism

..."Initially it was decided that we didn't want our names associated with her," said Reid Tice, DLS chair.

"Today though, I'm really proud to be a Badger and strike up these insightful critiques of free speech and religion."...

...She referred to examples of flogging and beating as prescribed by the Qur'an and urged feminists and other activists to scrutinize the religion practiced by 1.5 billion people across the globe.

"Islamic doctrine is incompatible with American theory," she said.

It's appalling that anyone would not "want our names associated with" a respectable black woman who has suffered so much, including genital mutilation and mental and physical enslavement.  Unfortunately, such a mentality reflects the power of the mob, as coddling brutal Islam is obviously far more important to many than supporting an individual who was harshly abused by it.

    Ma'm Acharya,

Do you really think there is anything called Humanism on this earth? I have become completely skeptical of this word more and more. This is just a thought in passing for mind bashing.

I salute this great lady for her achievement against all odds and her life shall prove an inspiration to all those who wish to find a source for
inspiration in their life. She is far beyond a even a roll model. In front of her, what any religion will do? I would class her a "Religion Model" in herself. The more I write, the less will it be to portray her life and character.

All those who are concerned with the society on the globe - anywhere and everywhere; will find it a fulfiling task in their life to help her.

    God bless her.

    Hey Dr. O.P.

If I understand you correctly, you are expressing cynicism about the human condition?

I can concur with such sentiment, as it seems at times as if most of the world is a loony bin. People attacking each other over imaginary invisible friends and unproved religious concepts. Religious fanatics truly are depraved, as they display their abject human-hating pathology day in and day out. If you don't believe their tall tales, they will attack you relentlessly. It seems as if the universe traffics in unchecked dementia.

But, cynicism aside, I like to celebrate the beautiful birds who sing their songs even when the coyotes, vultures, jackals and hyenas sit waiting to pounce. Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one such songbird whose mere presence on planet Earth makes it worth sticking around for the fight.

Loads of respect to the university for not caving to the muslim tantrums like the PC sheep in the west tend to do. They need to get used to the idea that they don't have a right not to be offended & that free speech trumps their sensibilities over here.

I hope the women of the muslim world see her as a symbol of what could be for them if they ever decide to use the rights we give them & throw off their shackles of Islam.
