Here's my latest blog post:

Some 80 years after lawyer Joseph Wheless wrote his classic Forgery in Christianity, it seems some - or at least one - mainstream scholars are catching up to the fact that the New Testament is not what it appears to be and what hundreds of millions have been taught around the world for the past 2,000 or so years.

Acharya--I've read a couple of Ehrman's books and past the first one, he seems to repeat many of his premises. His new book describes that the bible authors did not write the passages which was stated in Misquoting Jesus. I don't believe he is adding anything more to the conversation. What's your view?

Without having read his book, I can't say whether or not he's adding anything, but I will say that it's good he's taken this discussion to the mainstream scholars.

So far since I began writing about this subject, several scholars have published books that basically prove various aspects of the thesis I put together in The Christ Conspiracy.

For example, Ehrman has basically verified my chapters on "The Holy Forgery Mill," while Dr. Marguerite Rigoglioso has essentially proved the pre-Christian virgin-mother motif. Dr. Tryggve Mettinger has likewise proved the existence in pre-Christian times of the dying-and-rising motif, and so on.

Slowly, slowly, I can see pretty much every major theme being demonstrated in the same manner by professional scholars.

I found this book of value as he takes the time to discuss the several meanings of the word forgery and then the material. Further he examines several "saves" by believers such as "they used secretaries" to explain Peter's erudite writings in Greek by pointing out no one else did reducing the "explanation" to a special pleading.
