Hello there everyone, I have come to a slow and arduous realization over the past couple of months that I have been following the wrong subject as a means of passion. While I am very interested in mythology, history, and religious studies and always will be; I have realized that this is not where my passion lies in. I have decided to enter into the field of social sciences and sustainable sciences instead. Religion to me is not an important subject academically as it used to be, as debating on what happened in the past is no where near as important if we do not have a future to engage it as.

Now mind you, I will very much still be engaging in this forums and reading Murdock's work and still supporting her efforts. But my passion as now moved towards economic studies, human behavior and sustainable systems. I have decided that this is the best thing for me to do in order to be apart of the movement. For those wondering, it was my own choice to be apart of the zeitgeist movement and I did not want to be left behind. I have a lot of things I believe I can contribute to the organization and I very well hope to do so.

No one cares. Now GTFO.

Nah, I hear you man. I think I've mentioned this to you before, but it's getting to the point where I can't wait for my series to be finished so that I can move on to researching other areas of interest for me. One might argue I could do that anyway, but I'm a one track mind kind of guy.

So does this mean you are changing your 'major' or whatever?

I'm just throwing in my two cents. I think the discussion of how myths and collective perception have been engineered is more practical than efforts wasted on pipe dreams like the zeitgeist Venus project. Understanding our past is a fundamental natural human need. How could a truthful examination of religion not be in our individual and collective interests? One truth advances another. I have always liked Deng XiaoPing's admonition, "seek truth from facts".

One should always pursue that of own passion. In other words, your choices are the correct choices for you, as you know yourself best.

I know you will be engaged in this forum and topics related, as I came here by following the path you are looking to pursue.

I have studied economics, major focus on marketing and internationalizing. After writing a report on the introduction of the ECU, predecessor of the EURO, I had to dig deep into the core of the monetary system. Here I found a fundamental system error, and soon many other system errors became obvious. By following these errors to their roots and discovering origin of system itself, I found myself in reality studying religion.

Here are some elements that you perhaps find interesting.

- Hierarchy as word and concept originates from "priestly ruling class".

- Profit comes from equal loss. In a closed environment ( earth as one example ), no value can be added exceeding resource+energy any product or item consists on. In other words, if someone does a good sale it is equaled by a bad buy.
A system where profit exist, can only sustain as long as loss is possible. If we convert work/labor and resource both to energy, it is easy to see that work = 1 energy unit + resource = 1 energy unit become product = 2 energy unit. If sale of the 2 energy units consistently is sold for 3 energy units, the closed environment requires introduction of additional energy units to balance and prevent system collapse. Requirement is then steady population growth to introduce energy units through labor, or resources magically appearing from other places.

- Agriculture represents birth of profit. The attempt to extract more than put in. Today society use energy of 5kcal ( Oil, coal, nuclear, solar, labor energy added ) to produce 1kcal, whereas nature itself use 1kcal to produce 1kcal.

( My second example came of pretty bad, but perhaps you understand my mindless rambling  )

Anyway. Best of luck with whatever you must pursue.
