Oh, by the way, my marriage was horrible, though I made it through 19 years. We have been divorced for 15 years and are back on talking terms due to the birth of our first grandchild who will turn 2 this summer. We have great kids, so I guess it was worth it.

I have not been moved by any faith as much as I have by a touching song or rocking guitar rift. I have thought that perhaps music is the only somewhat mystical thing that we as a human race can still share unequivocally and not cause deadly divisions among us.

There remains in us a vestiage of an earlier race that has need for the mystical and touches us on a level that I believe is primitive, but still a part of modern longing that music fulfills in some way.

In honor of the Great Mother, and all the lesser mothers among us, Happy Mother's Day.
