Two of my favorite supplements are cherry and blackberry juice, they give me a kick I can literally feel down to my toes.

I do blender juicing, pureeing the fruit in some water in a blender, I find it easier to clean and more good things left in the juice.

Cherry juice:
I love this with mandarin orange, a small can.
6-8 oz of cherries, 16-24 cherries depending on size.

Blackberry juice:
6-8 oz of cherries, measured in a cup.
6-8 oz of water.
other juice as needed for flavor, be careful mixing other juice can give odd taste with blackberries.
I strain out the seeds before downing.

Nice juicer, but remember when they show how little material comes out in the catcher bin? And how that shows how much more good stuff comes out in the juice? Well, all that fibrous stuff ends up sticking to the top of the juicer. They say nothing about this and the top is not clear like other brands so you don't see the buildup during the infomercial. I'd expect Jack to be more forthcoming.

That is surprising, since LaLanne seems to have a great deal of integrity, after all these years. Perhaps he's really too old, at 90, to realize the problem?

I used to juice quite frequently - until I started pissing blood. It seems my kidneys were not too crazy about the ginger I was putting in my orange juice. Sorry to be so graphic, but it may save somebody some pain. One can overdue anything, even juicing.

I did like my beet and dandelion-green juice.

we have been juicing 5-6 days a week for about a year. initially to implement juice fasting as described at doctoryourself.com we used a the jack lalanne at first, the only complaint I have on it is lack of mechanical durability, I got my money back from costco when it broke afer a few weeks but liked it enough to buy another. Now we use a champion though, and our next one will be the omega 2003 recommended by Dr. Mercola at mercola.com (though champions tend to last for decades, even under heavy use). I drink a quart in the morniing when not fasting, mostly carrot, with garlic, red/green pepper, radish, cucumber, celery, and a little apple, pear, and sometimes a little ginger (ocassionally fennel but the fiber clogs the juicer). the wife drinks a pint with most of the apple and pear in hers. When fasting I dring more but mix it half and half with water. I have not been sick in the last year (used to average 2 colds/year) among other health benefits.

I had a post almost ready on this. Apparently I bumped the wrong key and the whole thing disappeared. When using the email list that could never happen because the email will not close anything without prompting for saving it. So this new method does have that significant drawback.

Anyway, We see moose frequently. I will post this, and then (I hope) post another with more details. (confidence in new system decreasing)

Get the Champion Juicer. Juices anything and lasts for years. I've had mine for many years and never had a problem with it.

That's one of the reasons why I haven't tried it- too many stories from people who have had problems with it. I'll stick with getting my vitamin C from orange juice and fruits.

great juicer recipes to aid in losing weight
I would highly recommend the watermelon recipe - my naturopath said watermelons aid in losing weight!

Morning Sunshine Smoothie

2 large oranges
1 red grapefruit
6 frozen strawberries
1/2 banana

Squeeze the juice from the oranges and grapefruit.
Put the juice in a blender and blend with the strawberries and banana.

Watermelon Dream Juice

2 cups cubed watermelon, cold
2 cups cubed cantaloupe, cold
1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled

Pass the ingredients through a juicer.

Strawberry Thirst Quencher Smoothie

1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup orange juice
2 tsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice

Put ingredients in a blender.

Carrot Cleanser Juice

4 large carrots
1 stalk of celery
1 apple
handful spinach
juice from 1/2 lemon (optional)

Pass the ingredients through a blender.
