I thought I posted this somewhere, maybe not - I've been using stellarium for some time now & I have also looked up the 3 Kings, Sirius thing to find it there just as described in the Zeitgeist movie and as other astronomers said.

I looked at the website, but I don't get it. Is this seeing the sky for real or a similation of it? I'm confused.

It's a realistic simulation of what you would see if you went out and looked - any time of the year from any location...it's quite nice watching the stars and constellations go by (speeding up time) just like the ancients did...

You can do stuff like show that the Sphinx pointed to the constellation of Leo 12,000 years ago (when it was really constructed!)

The song sucks but the second video has sold me. Now this doesn't replace my regular screensaver or anything like that does it? I want to keep my screensaver because I made it. I hope it is a program I can pull up when I feel like looking at the night sky.

I've used starry night software; then, my computer network went down; for some strange reason, those in charge don't want me to have my own computer anymore. Well, I used to have great fun strolling through the solar system, galaxy, and then extra-galactic space!
