...and did you know that Syngenta (a GM company are one of the investors,along with the Norwegian government and Bill Hicks) and that they will NOT be accepting any GM seeds.

I work in the food industry and saw this on an internal intelligence review.

What laws in the US prevent me owning a doomsday device? assuming that I built it myself from legally-obtained materials, what laws keep me from owning a doomsday device?

If by "doomsday device" you mean your own vault that provides survival necessities, there are no laws against that. In fact, they probably encourage it.
