1 hour Video - 1999: The Mystery of Chaco Canyon

This documentary examines the ancient ruins of Chaco Canyon, built between 850 and 1150 A.D. in northwest New Mexico. This film describes and demonstrates the intricate and precise astronomical alignments among the many buildings spread over a wide desert area. These alignments, along with other evidence, support the theory that Chaco Canyon was a major ceremonial center.

You can watch this streaming video from here. Allow a few minutes to buffer. Very intriguing information and the alignments are very well illustrated.

I want one - the Astrotheology Museum... FTL's idea, really.

Now, who will have the foresight to fund such a thing.

The conference video is interesting as well - it just goes to show you how much of this material is finally being accepted as valid.

It is but a small step from the "fascination" with the sun, moon, stars, constellations and so on, as recounted by one of the archaeoastronomers, to the worship of said entities, as is eventually manifested in astrotheology.

Simple - and quite obvious to those of us who know.

As archaeoastronomy has now become an accepted science, so too will astrotheology or, as it is also called, astromythology. We are in reality fortunate that we can be on the frontier of the amazing science of astrotheology.

If I had pursued a master's or PhD, I highly doubt I would have been allowed or found the time to study and become expert at the subject of astrotheology, which is simply the religion of the ancients that so evidently went along with the archaeoastronomy.

Now that you've already mastered astrotheology, why not get the master's or PhD for no other reason than to stick it to those who continually harp on you not having one? Life would get much harder for those claiming that no credible scholar is a mythicist with D.M. Murdock PhD on the loose.

Here's an archaeoastronomy course from my alma mater Franklin & Marshall College!

I wish they'd had it back then - I would have loved it. The main astronomer at my school was quite well known, Dr. Michael A. Seeds. I worked with his wife, Janet, in the Alumni Department of the college.
