Quote:
“How natural and expressive the symbolism of exterior washing to indicate interior purification was recognized to be, is plain from the practice also of the heathen systems of religion. The use of lustral water is found among the Babylonians, Assyrians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Hindus, and others.”
- Catholic Encyclopedia, “Baptism” (II, 260)

- Christ in Egypt, page 233

Christ in Egypt has a 30 page chapter on that subject alone starting on page 233. There's too much info to just pluck out a couple quotes which don't do Acharya's work on this subject justice.

I am in a debate on another forum and this was posted:

Isis was not a virgin. She was married to Osiris before Horus was born. Isis created a penis from the parts of her dead and dismembered husband, turned into a bird and mounted it, then became pregnant.
Meri was her title, not her name.
Seb is not Joseph in Egyptian or anything.
Seb is not Horus' father, Osiris is. Seb is Osiris father.
The most common story is that Horus was born in a swamp, not a cave.
Horus had 4 demi-gods that were his disciples, and 16 human priests. Not 12. WAIT 16-4 IS 12 HOLY CRAP MAGIC. (come on)

How do you answer that? How does Acharya answer this? I am not doubting her just this posters knowledge of what he's talking about.

We see these claims all the time - they are simply wrong. They are based on a shallow knowledge of encyclopedia entries, not on expertise in the subject of the huge Egyptian religion.

Quote:
“The Egyptian goddess who was equally ‘the Great Virgin’ (hwnt) and ‘Mother of the God’ was the object of the very same praise bestowed upon her successor [Mary, Virgin Mother of Jesus].”

- Dr. Witt, an Egyptologist

"The Pyramid Texts speak of “the great virgin” (Hwn.t wr.t) three times (682c, 728a, 2002a, cf. 809c)" ...

"In a text in the Abydos Temple of Seti I, Isis herself declares:

“I am the great virgin.”

- Christ in Egypt, page 152

* The Pyramid Texts are 4,400 years old.

ZEITGEIST Part 1 & The Supportive Evidence

Meri was an epithet meaning "beloved" which was applied to Isis and many other Egyptian gods. It certainly does cause a knee-jerk reaction out of those who try with all their might to deny these facts. The evidence is on our side.
Quote:
"She was married to Osiris before Horus was born. Isis created a penis from the parts of her dead and dismembered husband, turned into a bird and mounted it, then became pregnant."

These folks are utterly unaware of the fact that one of the major MYSTERIES was how a woman could regain her virginity through sacred union with God, regardless of being married and regardless of how many kids she had.

Also, Osiris was cut into 14 pieces, do these people really believe that he was able to 'get it up' to have real sex after Isis put Osiris back together 28 days later? These are myths we're talking about.
Quote:
"The number 28 is likewise astrotheological and represents the days of an average or mean monthly lunation, after which the soli-lunar god Osiris is torn into 14 pieces—the number 14 signifying the days of the moon’s waning per month—and then resurrected, as the moon waxes again."

- CIE, page 70

Here's a video clip of modern Egyptologist Dr. Bojana Mojsov admitting parallels between Osiris &/or Horus with Jesus. And, at 5:30 you'll see a stone carving of Isis as she hovers over Osiris in the form of a bird to receive the divine seed (notice there's no 'member') of Osiris. Mojsov then says, "It's a miraculous birth of the savior child."

There's even an image from Egyptologist Eric Hornung on the 12 at Acharya's description page for CIE for all to see. There are many more images of "the twelve" in the book.

As we can see, these "experts" don't know what they're talking about.

Quote:
"Seb is not Joseph in Egyptian or anything.
Seb is not Horus' father, Osiris is. Seb is Osiris father."

Because they don't really know this subject very well, they're confused on the fact that there was more than one Horus. There was Horus the elder, who was Osiris' brother. Seb is unquestionably that Horus's father. There is some etymological research connecting Seb and Seph, as Acharya has simply passed along - it is not a major point, however, just curious in consideration of all the rest of these parallels... Seb / Seph / Io-Seph / Jo-Seph / Joseph.

If you are planning on debating this information, you will want to have a copy of Christ in Egypt. You can search through it for now on Google Books.

Yeah, there's no way to commit all this info into memory - sources for searching are important. So, one thing to do is create an assortment of organized notepads on your computer with posts you've answered before so you don't have to repeatedly answer the same questions over & over. You can copy/paste comments from here - just make sure book pages or links are cited properly.

Use the new & old search function here as they both work a little differently. It's better than what we had before.

There may be some helpful videos here as much of it comes from Acharya's work.
