DNC Chair Candidates Want Party Divisions To Go Away, But It’s Not Happening

Quote:
Sanders’ Campaign Staff, Delegates, And Volunteers Launch ‘Draft Bernie For A People’s Party’

We’ve seen what kind of world the establishment parties have to offer. It’s time for a new beginning.

"Despite Bernie Sanders’ monumental endeavor to bring people into the Democratic Party, people are leaving it by the millions. The collective efforts to reform the party cannot stem the tide of people who are going independent, let alone expand the Democratic base."

Quote:
Draft Bernie Mission:

"The Draft Bernie for a People’s Party campaign aims to channel the enthusiasm generated by the Sanders campaign and opposition to the Trump administration into building a new political party. This party will offer new progressive electoral choices and strive to enact the people-first platform that so many supported during the Sanders campaign."

Why Draft Bernie?

"Despite monumental efforts to bring people into the Democratic Party, millions are leaving it as we speak. Gallup shows that since the election, a remarkable 14 million Democrats have become independents. So many people have left the Democratic Party that Republicans now outnumber Democrats in a progressive country. It’s time to reunite the voting groups that Sen. Bernie Sanders brought together during the presidential primary, groups that are practically begging to be assembled into a permanent working class party. Sanders’ campaign already built the coalition, all we have to do is give it a name."

Quote:
"The Democratic party has to reach a fundamental conclusion: are we on the side of working people or big money interests? Do we stand with the elderly, the children, the sick and the poor, or do we stand with Wall Street speculators, and the drug companies, and the insurance companies?" ... "What the campaign is about is a very radical idea. We’re going to tell the truth, and the truth is that for forty years the middle-class in this country has been disappearing, and there has been a huge transfer of wealth from working families to the top one-tenth of one percent, and what the people of this country are saying is enough is enough. Our government and our country belong to all of us and not just a few billionaires."

- Bernie Sanders

I am DONE with the DNC, Democratic elite (including the Clinton's) and the party same as I'm done with the GOP/Republican party. I have no one left to vote for who best represents my views and values. So, I would support the creation of a new People's Party and the drafting of Bernie Sanders to kick it off to help get it started. Where it not for the sabotage of Bernie's campaign by the DNC & Hillary etc., Bernie would likely be President so, from where I stand, the DNC & democratic elite owe us all an apology. Hillary, the DNC & the democratic party are dead to me now.

Trump and the Republicans Are Redefining “Religious Freedom” to Favor Christians

They want to turn religious belief into a license to discriminate, and to tear down the wall separating church and state

Taxpayer money is keeping many Catholic schools alive, study finds

Please take the below into consideration:

If Bernie Sanders & company are smart, they'll try to pull in all of the non-religious folks to help fight back against the Trump/Pence Christian agenda:

"I would finally like to hear discussion by both democrats & republicans as well as in the news media about the fact that America now has 23% (30% for those under 30) in the US who are non-religious known as the "nones" in polls on religious affiliation. That is the largest minority of them all ... the non-religious minority in America is far larger than:

1. NRA members (1.6%)
2. Jews (2.6%)
3. Muslims (2%)
4. Buddhists (0.7%)
5. Hindus (0.7%)
6. Jehovah's Witness (0.8%)
7. Mormons (1.6%)
8. Baptists (2.5%)
9. Illegal immigrants (3-5%)
10. Gays (3-5%)
11. Asians (5.3%)
12. Blacks (13.2%)
13. Hispanics (17%)
14. Catholics (20%)
15. Evangelicals (25%)
16. Non-Religious (23%) (30% for those under 30)

The US Supreme court has not had a non-believer on the bench since Justice David Davis (1877) nominated by Abraham Lincoln (a republican). The time has come to truly represent "WE THE PEOPLE" of America with a freethinker on the Supreme Court bench to represent the largest minority of them all! Who better to protect our SECULAR Constitution than a secular supreme court justice! Why on earth are we not even allowed a place at the table when we are at 23%? This is pure discrimination. We really need to fight for it we are very seriously under-served and barely recognized to exist."

Study: Atheists Most Discriminated Minority

Why do Atheists care about Religion?

Whether a new 'People's Party' is created or not Democrats & Independents MUST take the following into consideration or continue to lose election after election:

Immigration:

Anchor babies and the 14th Amendment

Immigration, World Poverty and Gumballs - Updated 2010

Immigration by the Numbers -- Off the Charts

We also need to reduce the numbers of LEGAL immigration from 1 million per year back to where it was previously before congress screwed it up without our permission down to 250k per year - LIKE Canada (& they complain that even 250k is too much & want it reduced). That is something that should be done within the first 100 days of Trump admin. as per NumbersUSA

https://www.facebook.com/numbersusa/

Islam:

These quotes are legitimate reasons never to trust the ideology of Islam:

"We are not here to adopt Western values, we are here to colonize the U.S. (and Canada) and spread Islamic sharia law... Canada has one of the easiest legal systems to penetrate and advance sharia from within ... but if that doesn’t work, we won’t hesitate to use violent jihad." "It should be us, with our understanding of Islam, our principles, colonizing positively the United States of America."
- Tariq Ramadan, Professor of Islamic Studies at Oxford University

"Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."
- Omar M. Ahmad, founder of Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)

"I want to see the U.S. become an Islamic nation.”
- Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR Spokesperson

"Ultimately, we (Muslims) can never be full citizens of this country ... because there is no way we can be fully committed to the institutions and ideologies of this country"
- Ihsan Bagby, CAIR

"No we don’t want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democracy" "We love you, America – and we want your children for Islam"
- Islam on Capitol Hill. com

"The 9/11 hijackers should be honored as martyrs."
- Warith Deen Umar, Former Muslim Chaplain, New York Prisons

"Muslims cannot accept the legitimacy of the secular system in the United States, for it "is against the orders and ordainments of Allah"
- Imam Zaid Shakir, Former Muslim Chaplain at Yale University

"Greater integration between Islam and the West depends on incorporation of Sharia law into the legal systems of Europe and the U.S."
- Ground Zero Mosque Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf

"Should I act violently in defense of my religion, ABSOLUTELY" "Nothing can stop the spread of Islam"
- Reza Aslan, the so-called "moderate" Muslim

"I am a traitor to America because my religion requires me to be. We pledge to wage jihad for the rest of our lives until either we implant Islam all over the world or meet our Lord as bearers of Islam."
- Samir Khan

"About 61% of the contents of the Koran are found to speak ill of the unbelievers or call for their violent conquest; at best only 2.6 percent of the verses of the Koran are noted to show goodwill toward humanity. About 75% of Muhammad’s biography (Sira) consists of jihad waged on unbelievers."
– Dr. Moorthy Muthuswamy

Bernie Sanders on the "Corporate Media":

Quote:
"In my view, the media spends too much time treating politics like a baseball game, a personality contest or a soap opera. We need to focus less on polls, fundraisers, gaffes and who's running for president in four years, and more on the very serious problems facing the American people -- problems which get relatively little discussion. I hope that's what our town meeting on CNN tonight will accomplish. There are a lot of important questions to talk about, including:

How do we stop the movement toward oligarchy in our country in which the economic and political life of the United States is increasingly controlled by a handful of billionaires?

Are we content with the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality that we are experiencing? Should the top one-tenth of 1 percent own almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent? Should one family in this country, the Waltons of the Walmart retail chain, own as much as the bottom 40 percent of our people? Should 52 percent of all new income be going into the pockets of the top 1 percent?

While the very rich become much richer, are we satisfied with having the highest rate of childhood poverty of almost any major country on earth? Can a worker really survive on the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour? How can a working-class family afford $15,000 a year for childcare? How can a senior citizen or a disabled veteran get by on $13,000 a year from Social Security?

What can be done about a political system in which the very rich are able to spend unlimited sums of money to elect candidates who represent their interests? Is that really what democracy is about? Why, in the year 2017, do we still have state governments trying to suppress the vote and make it harder for poor people, young people and people of color to participate in the political process?

Why is the richest country in the history of the world the only major country not to provide health care to all as a right, despite spending much more per capita? Why are we one of the very few countries on earth not to provide paid family and medical leave? With the five major drug companies making over $50 billion in profits last year, why do we end up paying, by far, the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs?

How do we succeed in a competitive global economy if we do not have the best educated workforce in the world? And how can we have that quality workforce if so many of our young people are unable to afford higher education or leave school deeply in debt? Not so many years ago, we had the highest percentage of college graduates in the world. Now we don't even rank in the top ten. What can we do to make sure that every American, regardless of income, gets all of the education he or she needs?

Meanwhile, on climate change, the debate is over. The scientific community is virtually unanimous in telling us that climate change is real, is caused by human activity and is already doing devastating harm to our country and the entire world. How do we transform our energy system away from fossil fuel and into energy efficiency and sustainable energy while protecting those workers who might lose their jobs as a result of the transition? This is no small issue. The future of the planet is at stake.

We are now spending $80 billion a year to imprison 2.2 million Americans ... We have more people in jail than any other country on earth, including China, which is home to four times as many people. How do we reform a broken criminal justice system? How do we create jobs and educational opportunity for young people, not more jails and incarceration? ... comprehensive immigration reform ...

Our nation's infrastructure is collapsing and the American people know it. At a time when our roads, bridges, water systems, rail and airports, levees, dams, schools and housing stock are decaying, the most effective way to rapidly create meaningful jobs is to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. How can we work together to make that happen?

These are the issues that need to be talked about all over the country.

Bernie Sanders: We need serious talk on serious issues
